What's for sale?

This is a polished pewter photo frame, made circa 1906 by the collectable, German manufacturer WMF (W├╝rttembergische Metallwarenfabrik).

The design has a classical touch, with two heads at each bottom corner and a trail of laurel leaves around the frame's aperture. At the top is a pierced, rounded panel with an oval cartouche in the centre.

The frame is identified only by the number 216, which actually matches illustration 217 in the WMF catalogue from that time.

If you look at the catalogue image, there's a third, central loop of ribbon at the top of the frame. This is missing from our item.

It has the original leatherette-covered, card backing, metal spring clips and stand. The original glass has gone and is currently replaced by acrylic perspex.
