What's for sale?

This is a handsome, glazed pottery jug or pourer, with a cork and raffia stopper and a hooped handle. It's ideal for oil or vinegar.

It's been decorated nicely under a shiny glaze: a grey base mottled with brown, a pale cream interior, a wash of brown stripes, brown edging on the rim and a circle of dark brown, dribbled from the spout.

The base is unglazed and carries the Wellhouse Pottery maker's mark.

Who made it and when?

It was made by the Wellhouse Pottery who had two Devon studios: Paignton between 1964 and 1982, and Brixham between 1982 and 2002. This carries the Paignton mark, so was made between 1964 and 1982.
