What's for sale?
This is a beautiful, signed, floral bracelet of green crystals by New York costume jeweller Weiss.
It's an articulated bracelet in gold tone alloy and a design in three sections.
The central section has five circular settings separated by green enamel leaves. Each circular setting comprises a mid-green crystal surrounded by six smaller crystals in lighter shades of green.
The sections to either side contain alternating pairs of green crystals and pale green, milk glass cabochons.
It's secured by a push-pull clasp.
Who made it and when?
It was made by the New York based costume jewellery maker Weiss. The back of the clasp is stamped:
Albert Weiss was a former designer with Coro, another well-known American costume jewellery manufacturer. He formed Weiss in 1942 and it operated until 1971.
Since 1943, Weiss jewellery could be marked any of "Weiss", "Albert Weiss" or "AW Co.", so we're unable to date this precisely.
What condition is it in?
- In very good condition
- The clasp works well and there are no missing stones
What are the measurements?
- 18cm long
- 1cm wide
- 13 grams
