What's for sale?
This is a small, promotional ashtray, handmade for the French pastis brand Ricard.
Ricard had all the usual ashtrays and water jugs, but they also had Ceramique Ricard make a variety of aquatic themed ashtrays like this.
They're crudely made, but it's a fun thing in turquoise green, with a yellow and orange fish frolicking in the waves, represented by the fluted rim.
It would have looked great in a bar and would certainly make a nice desk ornament now.
What condition is it in?
- In very good condition
- Underneath the rim are several rough patches with uneven or missing glaze
- The glaze is crazed, particularly in the bowl
What are the measurements?
- 5cm at highest point (2 inches)
- 11cm at widest point (4 inches)
- 159 grams
