Royal Verkade Biscuit Tin

A large, metal, lithographed biscuit tin from the Netherlands. Second-hand.

What's for sale?

This is a large, metal, lithographed biscuit tin from the Netherlands. It was made for Royal Verkade Biscuits for their mixed biscuit selection. Verkade has been based in the Dutch city of Zaandam since 1886.

The four colour design in red, black, cream and gold has a Christmas feel about it and has been used by Verkade since 1925. The tin has square corners, a separate lid and was printed using lithography. The label on the back suggests production during the 1960s to 1980s. The lid fits well and so it is still a usable storage tin.

What condition is it in?

  • Second-hand
  • In good condition
  • There are many small scratches and paint loss on the edges
  • There is a small patch of rust at the bottom of one side

  • 9cm high (3.5 inches)
  • 23.5cm width (9.25 inches)
  • 22cm depth (8.75 inches)
