What's for sale?
This is a square, pendant shell necklace by American costume jewellery maker Monet.
It's cast in a gold tone alloy and divided into sections. Inside are small pieces of shell, covered by clear enamel or resin.
The pieces of shell catch the light at differing angles and the result is a glossy, reflective pendant with lots of colour play. It's harder to describe than just look at it and enjoy it.
The choker-length chain is a box style and threaded through a loop at the top of the panel. A small extender chain, with Monet name tag, provides additional adjustment.

It was made the American costume Jewellery maker Monet, formed in 1930s New York by the Chernow brothers. Monet signatures without copyright symbol usually date before 1957, but the condition suggests it's more recent, such as the 1980s or 1990s.
