What's for sale?
This is an old and original, green, glass bottle from Brussels in Belgium. Etched on the front are the words:
"SLIWKA - TEL 17 48 92 - BRUXELLES".
As 'Sliwka' is Polish for plum, it may have contained plum wine, but it could also refer to the family name of a Belgian company. It holds one litre, so it is probably not a normal wine bottle. It has a dimpled base and fairly thick glass, but not like a siphon bottle.
It's an old bottle and looks like it has been re-used several times. We have no no way of dating it, and it has scuffs and marks all over, adding to its appeal.
What condition is it in?
- In fair to good condition
- There is a small crack beneath the top
- There are scuffs and scratches all over
What are the measurements?
- 30.5cm high (12 inches)
- 8cm in diameter (just over 3 inches)
- 1 litre capacity
- 809 grams
