What's for sale?
This is a beautiful hinged bangle, segmented by basse taille panels of green enamel over an engraved base.
Basse taille means low cut in French and refers to the technique of recessing shapes and panels with an engraved surface and filling them in with enamel to create a translucent appearance. It's sometimes the case that people use the phrase guilloché (a mechanised type of engraving), when basse taille would be more accurate.
The only mark reads "TOC925 SILVER". We've tested the metal as being .925 Sterling finesse silver but it's not hallmarked.
