What's for sale?
This is an evocative "Space Age" desk thermometer, designed to look like a ringed planet similar to Saturn.
It's a small plastic globe with a black back, clear front and clear 'rings' with faint highlights. The globe sits on a gold-coloured stem and foot, with a green felt underside.
The gauge and needle are in metallic red; temperatures are shown in celsius and fahrenheit
The gauge seems accurate: against a digital thermometers we read it to be 0.5°C positive.
On the base it's minutely imprinted "Made in France". We think it's probably from the 1950s or 1960s when we all had space fever.
