A Staffordshire covered serving dish decorated in British Anchor pottery's "Blackthorn" pattern. Second-hand.

What's for sale?

This is a Staffordshire porcelain serving dish with lid, beautifully decorated in the "Blackthorn" pattern.

Who made it and when?

It was made by the staffordshire-based British Anchor pottery. Underneath is their mark of an anchor and laurel leaves which reads:

  • Blackthorn
  • England

They added the laurel leaves in 1913 and ceased production in the 1970s. Because of its age, please assume that it's not dishwasher safe.

What condition is it in?

  • Second-hand
  • In very good condition
  • No damage
  • Some dots under the glaze inside the bowl, as shown

What are the measurements?

  • 10cm high
  • 20cm in diameter
  • 800 grams
