What's for sale?
This is a surplus, East German military messenger bag. It's well made in tough, black leather.
Our photographs are of one of several of these bags that we have in stock and their condition is similar to this one.
A fold-over flap on the front is secured by a metal hoop. Inside are two large compartments.
Under the flap, on the front, is a closed pocket with four round holes for pens and pencils. Because this is a new bag the pocket is flat and unstretched.
The rear compartment is 180mm high x 160mm wide x 50mm deep (6.25" x 7" x 2"). The front is similar but half the depth at 25mm (1").
The shoulder strap is attached by two carabiners and two metal D rings. The length is adjusted by a buckle.
Our photographs show a store card and smart phone to demonstrate the bag's size.
It was made for the East German Army (DDR NVA) and is from the 1980s.
